The Dare
49A little something from my teen years.
The Dare
The game was getting old,
And the night was growing cold.
How nice another coat would be.
My friend, she did agree.
Especially with a guy inside,
With that I definitely could abide.
Then her brother came near.
The choice of coats was clear.
"I dare you," she whispered to me,
"Do it, so we can see."
The results were obvious with this guy,
But no, I was too shy.
The dare, I wanted to take;
Then no excuse I'd have to make,
To touch this guy.
But come near, and away he's fly.
Just imagining the smile I could put on his face,
Made me want to invade his space.
Bright blue eyes and short blond hair,
Men as honest as him are rare.
So mature, though only in his teens,
And you haven't seen nothing, 'till you've seen those Wrangler jeans.
His smell is pure country, wild and free.
His name is Roland Lee.
"Alright," I finally decided,
And up to him I strided.
Saying, "I'm cold," I unzipped his coat.
"Me too," he said, with a suspicious note.
I stepped inside, watching his eyes.
They showed such great surprise.
With a smile on his face, back he flew;
His confusion showing through.
The laughter of friends rang out,
And I turned with a shout --
"I can't believe I did this."
Whole time, 'twas grinning at his sis!

Hi Ivorwen, nice work; both in words and in action. I had a dare like this last year, with someone from the other side of the world... I will hub it soon. Thanks for letting me in.
